What was the challenge?  The cracks observed in the foundation walls were likely caused by vertical movement of the porch foundations. The porch appeared to be settling and causing outward lateral stress on the west foundation wall. The top of the foundation wall was approximately 1” out of plumb in the outward direction, and the brick veneer was similarly being pulled outward. 

What was the solution? Helical piers were installed at the front porch foundations to help mitigate the vertical movement of the porch and the resulting lateral stress on the foundation wall.
